Puerto Madero, also known within the urban planning community as the Puerto Madero Waterfront, is a district in the city of Buenos Aires, occupying a significant portion of the Río de la Plata riverbank and representing the latest architectural trends in the city.
In the 1990s, local and foreign investment led to a massive regeneration effort, recycling and refurbishing the west side warehouses into elegant houses, offices, lofts, private universities, luxurious hotels and restaurants that conform to a gallery of options for this new district in a city that grew up turning its back to the river.
The Eastern Tramway covers 2 kms all along Puerto Madero parallel to Alicia Moreau de Justo Avenue. There are a few bus lines connection with the city. Taxis are easily found at all times and in 10 minutes drive you are in the centre of the city and or Retiro and Plaza San Martin.
5 Star Hotels are all over the place as well as new buildings with good and luminous apartments, some of them fully furnished and equipped as an alternative to hotels for tourists and foreigners in general looking for flats on short term rentals.
